Why Trek in Nepal ? |
| |
Simply, Nepal is probably the best place in the world for trekking! |
| |
When you fly to Nepal you will experience the thrill of a lifetime when you see the iconic snow capped mountains of the Himalayas for the first time towering above you as your plane approaches Kathmandu (not spelt Katmandu). A tingle goes down your spine tinged with a little apprehension since you are still above or at cloud level - We will miss those mountains wont we?
It really is an experience worth the trip alone! This sets the Nepal holiday experience whether you are trekking, climbing, rafting, hang gliding, nature trail walking, bird watching or just wanting an adventure holiday like no other. You don't just experience your particular choice of activity but also a huge variety of other experiences just by being here!

Nepal, bordered by India and Tibet, is a magical place so be ready to be in awe time after time as you travel round the country. Just outside of Kathmandu there are the towns of Bhaktapur, Nagarkot and Dhulikel within a few hours drive. Take a bus and chalk up another new travel experience, it's fun and a good way to see rural Nepal, sample the culture and the wonderful historic and religious sights. Some of the bus routes are not for the faint hearted!
Trekking in Nepal is like no other trekking holiday and can be quite a cheap trekking holiday too. For the adventurous you can trek to Mount Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Ri, do the Annapurnu Circuit or Annapurna Sanctuary, trek to Langtang, etc. or if you want a more leisurely trek then there are plenty of good walking, hiking and trekking routes around the Kathmandu Valley including some superb nature trails and birdwatchng opportunities. Your Nepali trekking guide will speak excellent English and will be a wealth of information.
For the size of Nepal there is an amazing variety of just about everything from the flora & fauna to the landscape, to the people of Nepal and an abundance of nature. In addition to trekking in Nepal, take extra time for other more leisurely activities like bird watching, walking the nature trails, visiting the many religious sights including temples and ancient monuments. For full information on Trekking in Nepal, Kathmandu and Nepal generally click on the links.
As a point of interest, globally on average nearly one million people search Google every month for the term "Kathmandu" and about 1/3 of them spell it incorrectly, as "Katmandu"!
Apart from a large number of Australians, British and Americans looking for a trek in Nepal there are plenty of Germans looking for, trekking in himalaya and nepal reisen and French looking for trek au népal or trekking au népal and even treck au nepal, not to mention a host of other nationalities. So Nepal is a great place to meet a real mixture of visitors. |
